Top 100 Mr. Carmack, Lido, Djemba Djemba, and Sam Gellaitry Tracks of 2014

There was only way to one up last year’s Top 50 Mr. Carmack & Djemba Djemba Tracks of 2013, and that was by adding two more exceptionally talented artists to the list. And why not throw another 50 track while I’m at it. As many of you know this is the time of year where blogs start doing their Top blah blah albums and singles you’ve heard a million times posts. Well here at NHU I wanted to feature a handful of forward thinkers who are finally taking over the scene.
Lido and Sam Gellaitry both caught my attention late in 2013. Lido’s remix of Cashmere Cat’s track “Kiss Kiss” was love at first listen. Then later to discover that he also has a side project for strictly Jersey Club. He’s now responsible for some of the best remixes all year, such as his flip Disclosure “Latch” and Bastille’s “Bad Blood”. As well as BANKS, ZHU, Alt-J, Flight Facilities, S-Type, Rustie, Lilangleboi, Big Sean, Trey Songz, Bill Withers, The Weeknd, the list goes on and on. Sam on the other hand started showing up in my Soundcloud feed so much that I had no choice but to go troll his entire soundcloud only to discover it was chock full of forward thinking anthems. Everything from “…bruh” to “powder” and “understanding” to “waiting so long”. Even his remixes of Jay-Z, Beyonce, Kayne West, and Pharrell are all amazing. Stay tuned for his “Short Stories” EP forthcoming on none other than Soulection.
Now for Mr. Carmack and Djemba Djemba. Arguably two of the best producers in the world, who have now influenced thousands of upcoming artists. This year Carmack released 3 EP’s, “Dimebag”, Drugs”, and his most recent “Exodus”. Including remixes of Major Lazer, Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, 50 Cent, Kaaris, Drake, Denzel Curry, Stormae, Robb Banks, and many more. Djemba Djemba on the other hand has been has also been making waves, he’s even nominated for a Grammy this year for a song he produced for Chris Brown. That’s just the tip of the iceberg though, he also produced gems for Alison Wonderland, LIZ, VBAK, even Madonna. But lets not forget the anthems such as his remix of “Core”, collab with London Future “Set Fire To The Room”, and “Valhalla” with RL Grime. I’ve never had a more difficult time deciding a Top 10 before in my 4 years of blogging. Even a Top 20 for that matter. But this years is hands down the best I’ve put together. Pretty sure I’m going to be RL Grime‘s Halloween Mix for Halloween this year. So it’s safe to say I expected this mix to be legendary. The track list contains some unreleased anthems as well as some glorious throwbacks. One again we are all reminded at how glorious RL Grime is at mixing, and this mix should be on repeat for days.
